Vietnam’s textile export growth slows

According to Vietnam’s “Investment News”, Vietnam’s textile exports in the first nine months of 2008 were US$6.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%. In the remaining three months, we need to export US$2.7 billion to complete the 2008 export plan of US$9.5 billion.

It is reported that under the current world economic turmoil, it is difficult to export textiles of US$900 million per month. The export volume in September has decreased by US$101 million compared with August, indicating that it is difficult to maintain the export volume at the beginning of the year in the last three months, and it is not easy to increase the export volume. Enterprises report that they are currently receiving very few orders for the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009.
