Zhanggou Village is located in the southwest of Lushan County. It is surrounded by mountains, with a forest coverage rate of more than 85% and rich natural landscape resources. In recent years, Zhanggou Village has attracted investment to build a tussah breeding base, an ecological grass pig breeding base, a fruit mulberry plantation project, and a tussah cocoon project. A series of ecological industry projects such as the silk processing base have directly driven more than 100 households in the village and surrounding areas to develop ecological planting, breeding and handmade silk processing to increase their income.
In September 2021, the relevant departments of Lushan County invested more than 300,000 yuan to purchase a set of tea-making equipment and provided it to Zhanggou Village. That year, the village produced more than 500 kilograms of tea and sold more than 300 kilograms, earning an income of more than 36,000 yuan. The village also relies on the township’s “Dexiu brand” wild winery equipment to produce more than 700 bottles of mulberry wine. “Because it is a high-end health wine, we initially priced it at 168 yuan a bottle.” Xu Jianjun said.
On the hillside of Zhanggou Village, there are many wild mulberry trees. “Last year we gained experience in making tea. This year we are planning to produce some pure natural wild mulberry leaf tea and wild mulberry wine. The next step is to make mulberry leaf noodles, mulberry vinegar, etc., making full use of a mulberry tree and developing related industries. Be bigger and stronger.” Xu Jianjun said.
