As of November 15th, the cotton picking progress in Xinjiang was 94.9%, 3.5 percentage points slower than the same period last year; the delivery progress was 94.0%, which was 94.0% year-on-year. 3.1 percentage points slower; the machine-picked cotton harvest in Xinjiang has basically ended. The machine-picked cotton rate in northern Xinjiang is 98.7%, and the machine-picked cotton rate in southern Xinjiang is 79.1%. Entering the end of the acquisition period, the price of cotton fluctuates less. Machine-picked cotton is basically maintained at around 10 yuan/kg, and hand-picked cotton is around 10.5 yuan/kg. Due to the poor quality of cotton picked again, the market price is generally 6-7 Yuan/kg.
Cotton output this year has basically remained stable, but the purchase price is far higher than last year. The high cotton price has stimulated growers to increase their cost investment, with an increase of 600-800 yuan per mu compared with last year, mainly in terms of manpower, fertilizers and land contract fees.
