According to a report by Financial Express on July 25, Bangladesh’s exports of shirts, trousers, jackets, and T-shirts fell by 9%, 4.62%, 6.02%, and 4.19% in the 2016/17 fiscal year. The total export volume of these four categories and sweatshirts was US$20.9 billion, accounting for 74.27% of all clothing exports of US$28.14 billion. Analysts believe that the lack of decline in sweatshirt exports is mainly due to the introduction of a large number of automated production equipment, which improves sweatshirt production efficiency and enriches product categories, which will help sweatshirt manufacturers maintain their cost advantage in the long run.
