The impurities in the seed cotton are all the substances contained in the seed cotton except the seed cotton, as well as the infertile cotton and the dead cotton in the advanced flowers, see Table 7-2.

(3) Thick impurities such as ropes, pieces of cloth, and sacks in the cotton can easily block the gaps in the machine or wrap around the rotating parts, affecting the normal operation of the machine, accelerating the wear of the machine parts, and shortening the service life of the machine.
(4) Rough and hard impurities such as bricks, stones, and metal blocks collide with running parts, which can easily damage the machine parts, increase machine material consumption, and easily generate sparks, causing fires, seriously affecting production safety.
As mentioned above, impurities in cotton have serious harm to the ginning process and must be cleaned.
(2) Calculation of mechanical impurity cleaning efficiency
The impurity removal efficiency of cotton cleaning equipment refers to the ability of the cleaning machinery to remove impurities. The cleaning efficiency of various cleaning equipment is different, which is determined by the characteristics of the equipment itself. For different types of impurities, the cleaning efficiency of the machine is also different. The cleaning efficiency of the equipment for external impurities is generally higher, and for infertility. The cleaning ability of fibrous impurities such as seeds is poor.
The impurity cleaning efficiency of the cleaning equipment is expressed as the percentage of the amount of impurities to be removed to the amount of impurities in the atomic cotton. The calculation formula is:
