On March 3, 2020, the WTO Safeguards Committee released the safeguard notification submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation on February 28. Indonesia has made final safeguard measures on imported synthetic fiber yarns and man-made staple fiber yarns (except sewing threads) (Yarn (Other Than Sewing Thread) of Synthetic and Artificial Staple Fibers). It is recommended that it be from May 27, 2020 to 2022. On November 8, safeguard measures were implemented in the form of special tariffs on the products involved, as follows: from May 27, 2020 to November 8, 2020, the tax amount is 1,405 Indonesian rupiah/kg, from November 9, 2020 to November 2021 On the 8th, it was 1,192 Indonesian rupiah/kg, and from November 9, 2021 to November 8, 2022, it was 979 Indonesian rupiah/kg. The Indonesian tax numbers of the products involved are 5509.22.00, 5509.32.00, 5509.51.00, 5509.53.00, 5510.12.00, and 5510.90.00.
Stakeholders should submit electronic and paper consultation applications within 7 days of the announcement.

On November 5, 2019, the Indonesian Ministry of Finance issued Announcement No. 161/PMK.010/2019, deciding to impose a special tariff of IDR 1,405/kg on the imported products involved from November 9, 2019 to May 26, 2020.
