Faced with the complex COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam Textile Group (Vinatex) and its affiliated units are accelerating the production of masks and non-woven fabrics to increase production capacity and meet domestic and foreign market demand.
Because masks are not a traditional product of the group, the output will be limited at the beginning, but by the end of this week, the output is expected to be about 250,000-300,000 products per day.
The units affiliated to Vietnam Textile Group include Hung Yen Garment Corporation (TongCongtyMayHungYen), Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company (DetMayHue), Tong Nai Garment Corporation (TongcongtyMayDongNai), Dongchun Knitting Company (DetKimDongXuan) and others said that they have successively produced masks, some of which are provided free of charge to the people, and some of which are provided to the market.
Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company (DetMayHue) provided the first batch of 1.5 million antibacterial masks for free to the Hue Provincial People’s Committee on February 5 , to provide to hospitals and schools in the province. On February 8, a second batch of 150,000 masks will be provided to the provincial committee of the province, and another 100,000 masks will be provided to Ly Thuy District, Quang Binh Province. In addition, the company has accelerated the production of non-woven fabrics to provide to other units, and to produce masks to provide to Da Nang City.
TongcongtyMayDongNai also stated that it is currently producing non-woven fabrics at the highest production capacity, with a daily output of about 10-15 metric tons.
The general manager of DetKimDongXuan Knitting Company said that the company’s mask orders have reached tens of millions of masks, and it is currently suspending large orders to serve the domestic market. After production is stable, we will study and plan to provide it to other epidemic areas (there is still demand).
