In the past week, cotton prices in Pakistan have continued to rise. Spinners have rushed to purchase high-grade cotton, but they have been unable to increase yarn prices simultaneously, resulting in shrinking profits.
It is reported that downstream demand in Pakistan has been very strong recently. Spinners are actively snapping up high-quality cotton and ordering large quantities of American cotton and Brazilian cotton. Affected by this, Pakistan’s Karachi spot price index jumped 2.75% to 9,350 rupees/maud. Amid the surge in cotton demand, sales of BCI cotton and organic cotton have grown more prominently.
At the same time, the price of cotton yarn in Pakistan has varied. Although the cost of cotton has increased, the export price of Pakistan’s cotton yarn has not changed due to the strengthening of the rupee exchange rate.
