According to Indonesia’s “International Daily News” report on September 9, Ahmad, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, said in Pelalawan, Riau Province on September 7 that the US Customs Indonesia’s garment and textile industry products have a good impression, so it plans to reduce the import tax on these products from the original 11% to 5% next year. This move will promote the expansion of the export market for Indonesian textiles, which is a huge business opportunity for the Indonesian textile industry.
Ahmad hopes to have similar business opportunities for exports to Europe. Indonesian exporters must seize this opportunity to conclude more export contracts.
If Indonesian textiles can control 1.8% of the global market, its textile industry will have huge potential and its export market will continue to expand.
He stressed that despite this, the Indonesian textile industry still needs to continue to implement some work to utilize the potential, that is, the coordinated development of upstream and downstream industries.
