Today’s CIS website reported on August 18 that Turkmenistan’s silk and cotton fabric output exceeded 5.5 million square meters from January to July 2019, exceeding the same period last year. During the same period, silk thread output exceeded 31 tons, a significant year-on-year increase. The production of high-grade silk raw materials in Lebapu region reached a record high in history, exceeding the production plan (960 tons) by 282 tons.
Turkmenistan’s two major silk production enterprises, the Ashgabat Silk Reeling Factory and the Turkmenbat Silk Production Complex, have fully modernized their production and are equipped with advanced equipment. Its products won the gold medal at the Prodiv International Fair (Bulgaria), and its silk threads and scraps are exported to China, Russia and other countries.
