According to the “Daily Star” report on July 18, Bangladesh’s garment workers yesterday opposed the proposal of worker representatives in the government committee to increase the minimum wage from the current 5,300 taka to 12,020 taka. The head of the garment workers’ organization accused Worker representatives should reflect the demands of garment workers for an increase in the minimum wage to Tk 16,000 and plan to hold a protest march and other activities on Friday morning.
