In April 2022/23, India exported 76,500 tons of cotton yarn (under HS:5205), a month-on-month growth decrease of 16.1% and a year-on-year increase of 5.39%. In 2022/23 (August-April), 489,400 tons of cotton yarn were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 48.63%.
The main exporting countries and export volume proportions in 2022/23 (August-April) are as follows: exports to Bangladesh were 132,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 63.9%, accounting for than 32.11%; exports to China were 60,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 56.05%, accounting for 14.64%.
